Plus, it’s generally super easy, with many recipes clocking in at just three ingredients—and no ice cream machine required.

Frozen yogurt can be full of hidden calories and strange ingredients, but this homemade fro-yo is healthy and easy to make. Just put frozen peaches, a little honey, some vanilla, a pinch of salt, and your favorite kind of yogurt in a food processor, blend, and in a few minutes you’ll have thick, creamy homemade frozen yogurt. Dress it up with a sprinkle of granola for breakfast or a drizzle of strawberry sauce for a low-fat dessert.

Game plan: To freeze fresh peach slices, arrange them on a parchment-lined baking sheet in a single layer and freeze until solid. Transfer to a resealable plastic bag or airtight container and store for up to 1 month.

  • 3 1/2 cups coarsely chopped frozen peaches (about 16 ounces)
  • 1/2 cup sugar, preferably superfine (see Note)
  • ½ cup nonfat plain yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Combine peaches and sugar in a food processor pulse until coarsely chopped. Combine yogurt and lemon juice in a measuring cup with the machine on, gradually pour the mixture through the feed tube. Process until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides once or twice. Serve immediately.

Note: Superfine sugar dissolves instantly, preventing a grainy texture in cold desserts and beverages. It is available in the baking section of most supermarkets, but if you can't find it, simply process regular granulated sugar in a food processor or a clean coffee grinder until ground very fine.


  • 16 oz frozen peaches
  • 8 oz yogurt
  • Juice from 1/2 a small lemon
  • 2-3 tbsp honey



You can serve it straight from here and it will have the consistency of soft serve. You can also chill it in a 8 x 8 pan in the freezer if you’d rather scoop it! I store in the freezer in an air tight container and honestly cannot tell you how long it will last in your freezer because ours gets eaten faster than I can make it!


Get creative! You can pretty much alternate several other frozen fruits to make different variations! Strawberries, Pineapple, Mango, Cherries…the options are endless! You could also mix and match! How good does peach-pineapple-mango sound? Maybe with some coconut yogurt! Mmm…my taste buds are already watering! Get creative with your combinations or keep it straight and simple! Either way you will enjoy this simple dessert!

Large or small container of the Greek yogurt?

Just a heads up that when you just have a run of the mill, ordinary blender this is quite the process! It took me about 20-25 minutes of pulsing, waiting for the blades to stop spinning, and shoving more peaches down into the blades to get this to a smooth consistency. Just because my blender can’t handle such a thick consistency.

It was still totally delicious and worth it, just know it’ll be more work if you have a $20 blender.

Help…my daughter would love this recipe except she is allergic to acid fruits lemons, oranges, limes. Hoping you can come up with something else that can be used. Thank you so much

Can you use artificial sweeteners instead of honey and how much should you use?

I used the individual serving size Belinda. You can certainly add more!
