There Christmas tart is the perfect recipe to bring to the table during these holidays. It is a tart made with an orange shortcrust pastry and filled with an egg-free chocolate cream. It is then decorated with cookies in the shape of a Christmas tree and with coconut chips that simulate snow. The recipe for this Christmas tart I got it here, it was love at first sight and I immediately thought it could be the perfect recipe to celebrate the Immaculate Conception.
In fact, with December 8, the Christmas holidays begin, in most Italian homes the tree and the Nativity scene are prepared and I, following the tradition, every year I also bring an edible Christmas tree to my blog.
Well friends, I leave you to the recipe of the day and I'm going to prepare myself, today I'm going to meet Andrea, the newborn son of my friends Ivan and Antonella. A basin and happy feast of the Immaculate Conception!
How to make a Christmas tart
Prepare the shortcrust pastry. Put the butter cut into chunks with the sugar, the grated rind of 1 orange and 1 teaspoon of vanilla in a bowl and work everything until you get a cream.
Add the eggs and, once mixed in the butter cream, add the flour and yeast.
Work the ingredients until you get a soft and homogeneous mixture. Then transfer it to a pastry board, wrap it in cling film and place in the refrigerator to heat for 30 minutes.
In the meantime, prepare the chocolate cream, chop the chocolate then put it in a saucepan together with the sugar, flour and cinnamon, turn on the heat and stirring, melt everything.
Add the hot milk slowly, continuing to mix over low heat.
Remove from heat and add the butter while continuing to stir until the butter is completely melted.
Transfer the chocolate cream to a glass bowl, cover it with cling film and let it cool.
Take the shortcrust pastry back and, on a floured surface, with the help of a rolling pin, roll it out with a rolling pin to a thickness of about 4 mm. Line a greased and floured 22 cm tart mold. Make the edges adhere well to the mold and cut away the excess dough. Prick the bottom of the tart with a fork
Pour the cold chocolate cream into the shortcrust pastry shell then bake the tart in a preheated oven at 180 ° C and cook for 30 minutes. Once cooked, take the chocolate tart out of the oven and let it cool.
Prepare the decorations now.
Roll out the leftover shortcrust pastry, then cut out some cookies in the shape of a Christmas tree
Place the biscuits on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper, then insert a toothpick into each tree making it come out for about 2 cm.
Bake the biscuits in a preheated oven at 180 ° C for about 10 minutes. Then take them out of the oven and let them cool.
Put the hot honey in a small bowl along with a drop of green food coloring. With a kitchen brush, color the tree biscuits, then sprinkle them with the sugar stars. Then let it dry.
Then place the shortcrust pastry saplings by inserting the toothpicks inside the chocolate cream.
Decorate the surface of the Christmas tart with grated coconut to simulate snow. Your Christmas tart is ready to be served.
