Porridge, or oatmeal, is basically a sweet oatmeal of Anglo-Saxon origin, and is somewhat the emblem of a healthy breakfast. Because of its consistency, how to say ... creamy, it never inspired me, I was afraid that it would not meet my tastes and turn out to be a tasteless baby food. I must admit that when I finally decided to try it I had to change my mind: maybe it will not be one of the delicious breakfasts that I prefer, (I'm a fan of pancakes) but it is certainly a complete and tasty breakfast, much better than I expected . Usually porridge is served with fresh fruit, nuts, honey or maple syrup, I opted for berries, banana and chopped hazelnuts, an excellent mix of flavors. How to make porridge
Put the rolled oats in a bowl.
In a thick-bottomed saucepan, bring the milk and water to a boil.
Then add the oat flakes, maple syrup (you can add honey instead) and vanilla and mix.
Cook the porridge for about 10 minutes.
Once the desired density is obtained, turn off the flame.
Pour the oat cream into a breakfast bowl.
Add fresh fruit and nuts and serve your porridge.
