It's exactly what it says in the title! I use whole milk but you can certainly use semi-skimmed, or almond milk or whatever dairy free alternative you prefer. It's a really filling smoothie that makes a great addition to your breakfast rotation.

Delicious taste, perfect consistency-01 May 2018

by Sarah Jo

I used frozen chunked bananas so that I would not have to use ice. I also used lactose-free milk and added a teaspoon of vanilla. The grownups would not drink this but we really wouldn't have needed to. The two kids drank all four servings between them. My youngest boy gave me two thumbs up.-26 May 2012

Since the combination of bananas and peanut butter in a smoothie intrigued me I decided to give this a try. I LOVE peanut butter and could eat it by the spoonfuls...(too bad they don't make a fabulous fat free version). Just as the submitter states it's refreshing and tasty! I froze my banana so I only used a little ice and to lighten this up I used skim milk (a bit less than called for to get the desired consistency) along with reduced fat peanut butter. Not only is this good, but it's good for you too and perfect for breakfast or a nice snack!-15 May 2012

9 Peanut Butter Smoothies

No other food bridges the gap between meal and snack in quite the same way as peanut butter. If you are looking for a quick and easy lunch idea, make yourself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. In the mood for a few handfuls of something sweet? You can’t beat miniature peanut butter cups. No time for breakfast in the morning? Peanut butter on a piece of whole-grain toast will fill you up and give you a nice boost of protein to boot. As such, it’s really no surprise that peanut butter has become a staple ingredient among smoothie-enthusiasts. As far as we're concerned, there’s nothing wrong with that.

In fact, we’d like to share nine of our favorite peanut butter smoothie recipes from around the web. So grab that blender and prepare to have your mind blown by these luscious legume-based libations (unless you have a peanut allergy, in which case you probably should have turned back after reading the title).

I used the banana, PB2 (sub for peanut butter), flaxseed, water and ice. works great and less calories.

Delicious! My whole family loves this recipe.

I substituted the milk with almond milk, the peanut butter with almond butter, and added a tablespoon of coconut oil. I also added a little ice to make it colder. The recipe is very good as it is, but I wanted to make it a little more healthy. It turned out great, and gave me a nice boost of energy in the morning.

great light breakfast. my only problem is that it's a two serving recipe and i'm usually the only one who drinks it. so i experimented. i used almond milk instead of regular milk and almond butter instead of peanut butter. i also used half a banana instead of a whole one. turned out delicious and cut the calories to around 300, so i can have both servings.

i love this smoothie. I actually add flax seed oil instead of seeds because of the texture. the peanut butter actually has it too. I make my own and it goes great with this smoothie. http://messnkitchn.blogspot.com/2013/03/honey-flax-peanut-butter-vegan-gluten.html

An excellent way to use flax!! Extremely delicious, with rave reviews from family members who usually loathe flax. I used chunky PB with no problem. It's helpful to chill the mixture prior to serving. Next time, I'm going to try to put it in the ice cream maker!!

Thanks CL for this great smoothie recipe. Easy, few ingredients. Definitely better if chilled. If you don't want to wait add some crushed ice. Have had it for breakfast many times and love it.

This recipe was good but not outstanding. I would make it again. It's a very rich recipe.

This could be my new go-to breakfast. Like another reviewer, I didn't have plain yogurt, just raspberry greek yogurt. I hesitated using it b/c I thought the raspberry might not work well with the peanut butter flavor. Still, there wasn't enough substance, so I gave it a whirl. Delicious! Creamy and the hint of raspberry was actually great! Tasted like I was cheating for breakfast. :) Of course, I wanted BOTH servings, but I split the remaining between my kids (also fans of it). Also, instead of honey I used agave nectar. One note, how recipe says this takes 20 minutes is beyond me. It came together in just a few minutes. Even better!
